I would like to welcome you on Pixelmaniac’s website. My name is Nancy-Lise (Nalie). I’ve been the owner of this group since the very beginning in February 2004. If you are on this page, it might be because you might like to join the group? I’ll resume below how this group works so you can decide if it’s for you or not. That way, you won’t be lost if you decide to join. WHAT ARE THE WEEKLY ACTIVITIES? Monday: Mandatory Tutorial Each Monday, we propose a tutorial and you must send your results. Tutorials are prepared with Paint Shop Pro but once a month, Mely shows us how to use Photoshop. Those of you who wish to learn to work with this software have the opportunity to do so and those who don’t can still use Paint Shop Pro without problems. Wednesday: FrontPage Course (for now) Wednesday is reserved to a FrontPage course. Members asked that we teach them how to use this software to help them put their first website together. Friday: Outline On Friday, an outline is sent to the group. You can do it or not, using your favorite technique (pastel, shading, dithering, prim, or traditional). Saturday: Outline sharing If you want to share outlines that you’ve made, you can do so on Saturday. Also, if you wish to prepare a tutorial, you are more than welcome to do so. All you have to do is email me and I’ll add your name to the monthly schedule. IS THERE A LOT OF EMAILS Pixelmaniac is an active group. We receive, on average, between 100 and 150 emails every day, sometimes more. WHAT IF I AM A BEGINNER? Maybe you’re thinking «I don’t know any pixel technique but would like to learn!» There is a section of the website (new members) entirely dedicated to teach you all the techniques. So if you are a beginner, this group is also for you! We’ll be with you every step of the way. WHAT ARE THE GROUP RULES? 1- Respect of the other members. We will not tolerate any critique or slander, or any racial or pornographic comments; if you do so you will be immediately unsubscribed from the group. We are here to learn and share. Only the critiques that will help better your art will be allowed. If you have any problems with another member, please advise a moderator privately, not on the group’s email. 2- - Insert your images in your message and use full page paper; it’s easier to look at. Most of our members use Incredimail. 3- Sending spam and virus alert is not allowed. Contact a moderator if you believe that you have a valid virus alert to report so she can verify if it’s a hoax or not. 4- Update your Antivirus regularly.. 5- One mandatory participation on Monday. Your participation is a reward for our work. If you are planning to be away for a long period of time, please advise us ahead of time. 6- Maximum weight for messages without animation is 250 kb and 400 kb with animation. If you repeatedly ignore this rule, you will be limited in your ability to send any messages for 4 days. 7- Respect the copyright rule. Respecting tutorial’s copyright is very important.
